Ingredients

  • 16 ounce New York Wagyu Steak
  • Sea salt
  • Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove, peeled
  • 2 tablespoons Black and Bolyard brown butter

Instructions

  • Take the steak out of the fridge 20 minutes before you cook it.
  • Season the steak generously on both sides with salt and pepper.
  • Place a large cast iron skillet on high heat.
  • When the pan is smoking hot, add 2 tbsp of EVOO.
  • Place the steak in the center of the skillet and do not touch it!
  • Cook the steak on each side for 2-3 minutes.
  • Gauge the temperature with your finger, watch the video for instructions.
  • Move the steak to the top of the pan, add one crushed clove of garlic, and 2 tbsp of Black and Bolyard brown butter.
  • Bathe the steak in butter for one minute.
  • Take the steak out of the pan, and let it rest for 1-2 minutes.
  • Slice the steak into 1 inch thick slices.
  • Pour pan juices onto the steak for maximum flavor.
