If you know me, you know how much I LOVE our end of the season Fishy Feast party! It really is the perfect way to say goodbye to summer  and say hello to fall and all of the festivities that come with it.

Every year, my husband Michael goes on a summer fishing trip off the coast of Vancouver, BC. We figured, there’s no better way to showcase all of the amazing fresh fish he caught than with a dinner party. After all, it’s what I do best! I love any excuse to create a themed party,  get dressed up, eat good food and spend time with my favorite people.

We held the party at our home in Water Mill, New York. This year, we went full-on oceanic with blue hues everywhere and all kinds of under-the-sea themed party decor. I asked my guests to dress in blue too. And as you all know, it’s always best to do what the hostess asks of you!

For dinner, I brought in talented Executive Chef Kerry Heffernan of Grand Banks, a seasonal oyster bar right on the deck of a historic fishing boat on the Hudson River. Kerry is known for his focus on sustainable and wild-caught fish. As a chef, fisherman and conservationist, he was the perfect chef for our Fishy Feast!

The menu featured a signature cocktail called the Deep Blue Sea with vodka, blue curaçao, white cranberry juice and lime.

For appetizers, we had salmon tartare tacos, “Dilled Salmon Mousse” on cucumber rounds, lamb meatballs, jumbo shrimp, crudites with dips and chilled creamless corn soup.

For the main course, we had dishes like grilled cedar plank salmon, halibut with tomato concasse and herbs and grilled marinated steak with chimichurri. We finished the evening off with desserts like salted tahini brownies, key lime pie, apple crisp from our own apple trees and biscuit au chocolate.

Our guests enjoyed music by DJ Coleman of Coleman Music all night long. Our Wild Fishy Feast was a big hit and it was the ultimate sendoff to a fantastic summer. If you’re interested in checking out coverage of the event, check out these features in Influencer Magazine and Times Square Gossip!
