When your only child gets married, it is a huge life event with such a myriad of emotions.
From sad… wasn’t he just a little boy and how did I get to be this old? To ecstatic … I adore my new daughter in law, and how wonderful that they are so in love with each other.
The wedding was beyond. They had a very small budget and I’m going to let you judge how amazing this country wedding was by the photos. The most important thing for them was that they keep it intimate.
They were able to use the grounds of a gorgeous home of good friends in Pound Ridge NY. The bride’s mother brought the flowers from her garden in Maine and with the help of a friend, created all the wedding bouquets and flower arrangements. Beyond gorgeous!
They had good friends help with all the organizing and we were so lucky that they had the help of mother nature. The weather was remarkable and we were able to have everything al fresco. We ate and danced under the stars.
They had a fantastic barbecue company set up a grill station on sight. Their food was delicious and then Flirting with Flavors, added a bit of glitz and glamour to the menu as well. And of course, I had to sing one song and I surprised everyone and sang with Sally’s mother. Bet you can guess what we sang. If you want to know, email me!
Enjoy the photos! Next week, I’m off to Greece and will be blogging about my first trip to the islands. Happy Summer indeed!
