Eggnog French Toast and Maple Glazed Bacon
Servings: 8 people
Ingredients
Eggnog French Toast Casserole
- 1 loaf brioche, sliced into 1” slices
- 6 eggs
- 2½ cups eggnog
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Maple-Glazed Bacon
- 24 slices bacon
- ½ cup maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Instructions
Eggnog French Toast Casserole
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Layer slices of brioche into a 13” x 9” baking dish.
- Whisk together remaining ingredients and pour over brioche slices.
- Press bread into custard to make sure each gets properly soaked. Let sit for at least 20 minutes, and up to overnight.
- Bake until set and slightly puffed, about 30 minutes.
- Serve warm with bacon, macerated berries, and/or maple syrup.
Maple-Glazed Bacon
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Place the bacon on a rack and then on a cookie sheet. Place in oven to cook for just a few minutes until it is starting to brown, but not yet crispy.
- In a small bowl whisk together the maple syrup, mustard and sugar. Remove the bacon from the oven and with a pastry brush, apply glaze to both sides.
- Return to oven and cook about another 3 minutes or until desired crispness.
- Serve immediately – before everyone eats it.
